Residents of Capitol Heights who live north of Central Avenue must have displayed at all times a "Resident Parking Permit". These permits can be obtained at the Capitol Heights Police Department. There is a $5.00 administrative and supply fee per permit.
To apply for a permit come to the Capitol Heights Police Department located at 401 Capitol Heights Boulevard with your driver license and vehicle registration for each vehicle permit you request. You must have a valid Capitol Heights address on your driver license to get a Resident Parking Permit, and the vehicle(s) must be registered to your home address in Capitol Heights.
These parking permits must be renewed every year and they are meant to benefit the residents of the Town of Capitol Heights, and to prevent Metro riders from taking up the few parking spaces in town for residents.
Having visitors? You can also request a visitor parking permit for the same fee of $5.00. Visitor permits are only valid for a seven (7) day period, and the resident must apply for the permit, not the visitor.
All payments must be in the form of a money order. We cannot accept cash or debit/credit cards at this time. Money orders must be made out to the Town of Capitol Heights Police Department.
